Industrial / Automation Engineer (Contract)
About Magna Products
Magna Products builds custom software for businesses that need reliable execution. We develop web applications, mobile apps, industrial software, API integrations, and internal business systems with direct access to senior technical people and a lean delivery model.
The Role
We need engineers who understand software in industrial contexts, where uptime, field constraints, and integration with existing equipment matter as much as clean code. You help bridge operational reality and reliable software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software for industrial workflows: integrations, diagnostics, shop-floor tooling, or device-side logic.
- Work with APIs, protocols, and hardware-adjacent systems where domain context is essential.
- Collaborate with our team and client operators to scope practical solutions that survive deployment.
- Document decisions and hand off maintainable systems.
Ideal Profile
- Experience in industrial, automation, robotics, or embedded environments.
- Comfort debugging systems that touch real hardware or production lines.
- Pragmatic approach, you optimize for what works in the field, not just in demos.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and operations stakeholders.
Compensation
- Milestone-based or retainer pricing, scoped per engagement.
- Independent contractor, no employment relationship.
- On-site travel, if required, agreed upfront.
Why Work With Us
- Real industrial problems, not generic CRUD apps.
- Senior team that respects domain expertise.
- Scoped engagements with clear deliverables.
If you've shipped software in industrial or automation settings and want focused contract work, get in touch.
